Good Friday has come to a close. We had orginally planned to attend the 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. services, but Tricha's parents were off and came over to help a day early. We did attend the 7 p.m. service featuring a choral "Stainer's Crucifixion".
Morning started early, Tucker off to the vet at 8 a.m. to have his stiches removed and have his vacinations performed. Then off the drop off Tricha's car off to have the windshield replaced, was hit by a rock last week. After a stop at Chick Filet, we went home, ate and started work. Hit the yard to get some cleanup in before Tricha's parents arrive.
Pat and Kathy Tate arrived around 9:30 a.m. to help out. Ladies tackled the yard, pulling vines and weeds preparing the flower boxes for new shrubs and flowers. Our big project for the guys was going to my friends house, taking down the swing set he gave to my daughter Emily, bringing it back home, and re-building it. We got it taken down and all in the back end of my truck in about an hour, another hour to unload and plan how to repair it, then off to Lowe's for lumber and hardware. Got back, ate lunch and started repairing. Had to install braces mid-section and on the bottom of the fort, replace rotten braces, and rusted bolts. About 5 p.m. had 95% of the swing set repaired and ready to go. Tomorrow will complete small repairs, build a box and install mulch. Be ready for little girl to swing and play!!!
After dinner prepared by the gal's, we arrived in church for the Stainer's Crucifixion Service; the choir sounded great. I was so tired, was about half way before I got some energy to really enjoy the music. Emily and another little boy were in the nursery, they went outside to the church playground and had fun.
We all went with Donna Varnell after the service for desert and celebrate Donna's annual 39th birthday. Great desserts, little girl had an easter cookie, then got crankie, she was very tired. So we said our good byes and went back home.
Day was good, body tired, feet tired, be happy to get the swing set project complete and playing with Emily.
